Drishti is bringing our experience with community radio to Nazariya’s volunteers! Ahmedabad’s youth are coming together to create a space where young people, irrespective of gender, caste, class, religion, faith, sexual orientation, social and economic background or literacy status can freely and fearlessly voice and discuss issues affecting their lives.

The core of a viable democracy is a free, fair, and open media so the city’s youth are creating a station that is ‘of the community, by the community and for the community’.  Radio Nazariya, Ahmedabad’s first community radio station, will strengthen community voices by putting media back in the hands of the community.

Radio Nazariya strives to:

1. Inspire young people to become active agents of social change 
2. Circulate information on socio-political issues to a wide audience
3. Sensitize young people to issues affecting their lives
4. Develop theater and community radio capabilities
5. Promote a lively, citywide dialogue
6. Provide a platform for citizens to voice their concerns creatively
